India Garden - Traverse City: Reviews & Ratings
The food came out fast, fresh, and absolutely delicious! The restaurant was very clean, and the portions were huge—enough for three or four meals. Hands down the best Indian food I’ve had in years. Highly recommend!
This is a wonderful, high end Indian restaurant in Traverse City. The staff is really friendly and the food is authentic. The aloo muncharian was freshly prepared and was well seasoned and crispy. The veg appetizer platter came with onion pakora, samosa, and aloo bhajia. The malai kofta was good, however a little smaller than I expected with maybe 4 pieces of kofta. The sauce was flavorful however despite being spicy/medium there was not much of a kick. If you're used to spicy food, try and ask for extra spicy. The mango lassi came in a large glass and was enough for more than one person, and was not too sweet. The prices are a bit higher than expected but for the quality of the food and atmosphere it makes sense. India Garden is a great place for Indian food if you're visiting!
I had the Tandoori mixed grill and was delicious. We also ordered Biryani and it was full of flavors. They have a team of chefs there.
The food here was amazing. There are a lot of different options--and everything is good. This is probably some of the best Indian food I have ever had. It does need better ventilation because the shishkabob smokes like crazy when they first bring it out and while that looks very cool and my husband chowed it right down, I couldn't stop coughing for awhile. The whole table agreed that some better ventilation would definitely improve that.
This was my first time dining at India Garden in Traverse City, and I can see why it was packed on a Sunday evening! The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, and the aromas from the kitchen immediately made my mouth water. We ordered the Lamb Vindaloo with basmati rice and the Chicken Tikka Masala with basmati rice and garlic naan. Both dishes were rich in flavor, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection — the lamb was tender, the chicken incredibly juicy, and the sauces were deeply satisfying. The garlic naan was the perfect companion to soak up every last bit. If you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors with generous portions and a bustling, welcoming vibe, India Garden is well worth your time. I’ll definitely be back.
A friend and I had lunch over here and it was a lovely experience! We were greeted by a kind and welcoming ambiance as soon as we entered. Our dinner experience was enhanced by the ideal ambiance , comfortable lighting, and a calming atmosphere. The service was flawless! The staff was really kind, attentive, and always willing to help with suggestions. Without being overbearing, they made sure we had everything we needed. And now for the food—what a delight! I am eagerly anticipating returning for the appetizer alone because it was so delicious and expertly prepared. However, the *Chicken Tandoori* was the true highlight—it was so delicious! It was evident from the properly seasoned, smokey tastes. All things considered, it was an amazing experience, and I heartily suggest this restaurant to anyone seeking real Indian food and excellent service. You can see how wonderful everything looked by looking at the attached photos! I am eager to return!
New place. Heard good reviews. Tried it. Need to go back!!!!! Sooooooo good!!!!! So fresh, deep and real spices. We had a cinnamon stick and cardamom pod in our mango curry and it made the aromatics so strong! The chicken, shrimp and lamb kabobs were off the hook. Veggies rocked. The cashew nut sauce was such a nice compliment. We got medium heat and it was just right. Enough to clear your head. We were so full!
Avi is the best waitress! Very attentive sweet and helpful choosing entree’s. This is the BEST Indian Restaurant that we’ve ever eaten at!! The Chia Tea Latte was absolutely delicious spices were right on! I chose the Salmon Garden Kada dish! Was amazing! My husband ordered the Daal Makani and he loved it too! Best Service Best Meals and super calming atmosphere win win for TC!
